Our Building Process

At The Development Group (TDG) by Elliott Homes, we take great pride in cultivating an ongoing relationship with you, the home buyer. Our unique homebuilding process provides you with needed information throughout the construction of your home. We maintain open lines of communication to promote your involvement and understanding as you move through the process of buying and building your most prized possession: your home.

 

INITIAL PROPOSAL MEETING AND PRE-CONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE

 

The proposal meeting and pre-construction conference is your opportunity to meet with The Development Group team who will work with you throughout the construction of your home.  The team will help determine your needs and price comfort zone, as well as assist you in identifying the floor plan and options you desire.  We will answer questions about financing and help you decide what will work the best for you and your family.

 

We will also go over the community site plan and specific building plans for your home, and we will review building specifications with you.  This is the best time to ask questions so that you completely understand the construction process.  Finally, you will receive a copy of your new home blueprints and specifications for your records.

 

CONSTRUCTION WALK-THROUGHS

 

During the construction process, we are pleased to meet with you on site, upon request, at any time. We also may schedule selected meetings with you at several stages throughout the course of construction, including framing, electrical, and / or decorator.  Upon completion of your home, several team members from The Development Group will accompany you in a walk-through to address any questions and to ensure that all items of concern, including repairs and / or touch-ups, are properly addressed.

 

FOLLOW-UP AND WARRANTY

 

At the final walk-through, we will provide the paperwork you will need to request a five-month and eleven month warranty inspection.  Keep a list of any item needing attention, and submit it to our warranty officer at the time of the inspection. This would include warranted items like a chipped tile, scratched window, broken roof tile, etc. We will contact you within five working days after receipt of the warranty request to schedule an appointment for covered repairs.

Of course with any warranted item that is urgent or that could lead to an emergency situation, please call us immediately so that we can respond right away.

 

Within 30 days of closing, a representative from The Development Group will contact you to ensure that everything in your new home is in good working order.  We welcome any feedback you wish to offer that may help us improve our construction process.
